FY07 Spending Bills Pushed to 110th Congress
The 109 th Congress will not address the pending FY 2007 appropriations bills-including the Labor-HHS-Education bill-in the lame duck session, leaving the 110th Congress to focus its attention on these bills in its early days. We expect another continuing resolution (CR) will be passed before the current CR expires on December 8, which will extend funding for federal agencies until either early February or early March. Most programs in the remaining appropriations bills will be funded at the lower of the House-passed, Senate-passed, or FY 2006 enacted levels. Since the Labor-HHS-Education Appropriations bill has not been passed by either the House or Senate, agencies and programs funded under this bill (e.g., AHRQ, CDC, CMS, HRSA, NIH) will be funded at the FY 2006 level. |
