Funding Levels for FY 2009 are Finalized
On March 11, President Obama signed the omnibus appropriations for FY 2009 (H.R. 1105), which provides increased funding for most HHS agencies. AHRQ will receive $372 million-a $38 million increase-including $50 million for comparative effectiveness research and $13 million for investigator initiated research. NCHS will receive $124.7 million, an increase of $11 million.

HHS is funded at $77.2 billion in discretionary spending, + $6.1 billion (9 percent) above the FY 2008 Enacted level.
